Golden coastline walk of Mallorca
Embark on adventurous island exploration across the Serra de Tramuntana coastline of Mallorca. As pathways zigzag their way between Mediterranean hillsides, small Spanish villages with old monasteries, and idyllic unspoiled turquoise bays - we explore each corner of our route marveling at spectacular panoramic views and enjoying the southwest coast without any hustle and bustle, relaxed and stress-free.
This 5-day guided coastline trip will delight with pristine nature walks, beautiful Mediterranean bays, historic monasteries, lighthouses and watchtowers each offering unforgettable panorama over the rocky shores and mountain ranges of the Spanish island of Mallorca.
MAJESTIC PASSAGE OF THE TRAPPIST MONKS
In the middle of the Trapa Natural Reserve, the southwestern end of the Tramuntana mountain range, we explore the old monastery and remains of a chapel, the mill, and almost feel the presence of the Trappist monks still around. With breathtaking views over green terraces carved into the hillsides, the Dragonera Island in the distance steals the view.
LA TRAPA VALLEY BELOW OUR FEET
Following the golden rocky path wrapped in Mediterranean greenery we arrive at the highest viewpoint over the Trapa valley. The mild wind, the humming silence, the gorgeous sea in the background and the ruins scattered at various points on the esplanade share the most unforgettable landscapes in Mallorca.
FOLLOWING THE TRAIL OF DRAGONERA
The charming coastal village Sant Elm, surrounded by the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains from one side and the uninhabited island of Sa Dragonera from the other, invites us for another adventurous day filled with Mallorcan scenery.
MAGNIFICENT EL PAS VERMELL PANORAMA
We head down to a round trip through pine tree woodlands and panoramic hillsides where charming old remains of the past once again accompany us throughout the day. We continue to marvel at some of the finest views of Sa Dragonera as we reach the El Pas Vermell highest point.
AROUND THE CAP DE CALA FIGUERA PENINSULA
As soon as our feet land on the trail a lush pine tree woodlands wrap around us. Narrow pathway takes us along the rocky coastline showing off the spectacular Punta de El Toro strip. We marvel at the views with every twist of the path, enjoy a delicious picnic lunch at the story-wrapped lighthouse right on the edge of the Cap de Cala Figuera. The day is ours to uncover unspoiled bays along the way.
UNCOVERING MALLORCAN STORIES ALONG THE WAY
The contrast between lively holiday resorts and traditional Mallorcan mountain villages, between crystal-clear bays and the characteristic foothills of the Tramuntana mountains make the Southwest region so diverse, inviting and adventure-filled. The best way to fully immerse and feel this island’s beauty is to enjoy it by foot, with each step uncovering its story.
FROM LEGENDARY WATCHTOWERS TO PIRATES
As we continue to explore further down the rugged coastline, the Cala Fornells is a spectacular starting point of yet another coastal leisure day soaking up all the sun, sea and views. We explore Cap Andritxol by passing through the protected nature reserve with breathtaking viewpoints and a watchtower protecting the island from pirates in the old days.
SURRENDERING TO THE BEAUTY OF CALA MONJA BAY
With views stretching far into the Mediterranean sea and over nearby bays we reach the fairytale beach of Cala Monja - a true treasure of its own. Once a movie scene spot for the notorious Hèrcules Poirot in Agatha Christie movie, now a splendid place to enjoy nature’s tranquility. The tiny pebble beach surrounded by shady trees, turquoise blue sea and green cliffside offers unbeatable views and perfect spot to take a short picnic break.
NOURISHED BY THE SUN, SEA AND VIEWS
As we wrap up each adventure-filled day nourished with the Mallorcan sun, Mediterranean sea and breathtaking views of the Serra de Tramuntana coastline we get to know this magical island closer than ever before. We pause, refresh, and simply slow down at yet another cozy paradise-like turquoise bay of Cala d'Egos.
